And now we see that Republicans and Democrats aren't that different
Conservative pundits still make bank ont he fact that when cornered about his affair, Clinton used legalese to attempt to weasel his way out of lying. It was ugly, and it made endless jokes about his saying "It depends on what the meaning of 'is' is."
Now that the Valerie Plame story is back and gathering steam, Karl Rove's lawyer is saying that Rove told the reporter Plame's role and that she was Joseph Wilson's wife, but didn't give her name. And none of the people who are saying that Clinton was wrong to parse words is saying a damn thing.
Clinton was wrong, and Rove is wrong. However, Clinton was talking about sex, and Rove was outing a deep cover CIA operative, destroyed all of her intelligence gathering capabilities and put the lives of everyone she had ever worked with at risk. I don't know about you, but I think there is a bit of a difference between the two. I feel the story is a good litmus test.
If you think that what Rove did is more serious, you have a firm undertsanding of ethics and their use in government. If you think what Clinton did was worse, you are a brain damaged moron in a vegetative state who needs to have their feeding tube removed and spouse investigated by Jeb Bush.
